Attention
The world is a rich, flood of sensations - we are constantly bombarded with sensory information. Attention allows us to filter this flood of information, selecting only those stimuli that are behaviorally relevant. Unfortunately, this ability is disrupted in many neuropsychiatric disorders, such as Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Our research aims to understand how the brain learns where to attend, how the brain directs attention to specific stimuli, and how attention affects sensory processing in order to filter sensory inputs.
