Brain Stimulation

Brain stimulation is an emerging technology for treating mental and neural diseases.  Current technologies provide exciting treatment options for Parkinson's disease, severe depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.  Cochlear implants can restore hearing to the deaf and brain stimulation can halt an epileptiform activity before it causes a seizure.  However, many of these techniques are blunt; stimulating large regions of the brain and stimulating for long durations of time.

Our research is developing the next generation of precision brain stimulation. This will improve the efficacy of existing technologies and open the possibility for new treatments options for other mental and neural diseases.
